Battery Acid Spill
Had a battery in my boot and it toppled over and it has leaked some acid out, ive stripped the boot out of everything and wiped it out, however it seems to have soaked into the black material that is under the s[are tyre and smells really bad..
I was just wondering if anyone could reccommend a solvent or something or other so that i can easily scrape all the black stuff on the bottom of the boot out. its sort of like the roof glue i think.
Or if something could cancel out the spill/smell like an alkaline?

I have done it and it's a c**t of a problem; mine seeped under the rear bench seat too and started to eat away at the foam :S
LOTS of baking soda and water, just slosh it in there. You need to get rid of every single trace piece of it. Took me days...
and that fuckin' smell... RAWR!
EDIT! btw, don't forget to remove the rubber bungs in the boot so it can all drain out

I used boiling for a start, then cold for the last 40-50 litres lolsilverGPX wrote:thanks guys,
yea it smells like rotten eggs, do you think i should use baking soda and boiling water or just cold water. And how many scoops per litre is there a certain ratio?
No ratio that I know of, but I did spend over $50 on baking soda :S
