Insurance
Hey all is there any other insurance companies other than just cars that insure FTOs in melbourne??
Whos with justcars? Do they assume a rating by looking at your history/age or do they just go by how many years you have insurance?
Which company does assume a rating based on diriving history/age?
Im in melbourne BTW
I got quoted 3200 by just cars, im 22. ith serveral mods, car covered for 20,000 grand.
thanks

I've been looking a bit... I know, mum could get insurance with Famour, for I think it was $900, on my completely STOCK fto... only problem was no one under 21 would be covered...
Just Cars also have a good trick, in that they ask, do you have any kids, and of course, mum has kids
lol, so their quote was $4000?!?#
But when I called em up myself, they said $3500, 20yr's old, NCB5 (0%), no nothing, mods, infringemnts (although I have been given 3 from speed camera's, they're all waiting on confirmations from the faulty camera's
With that said, $3,500, is still expensive, but not ridiclous... i however, will probably stick with just 3rd party, this year, and maybe move to famous next year.. still not sure, at the moment, I am covered full comp under a cover note... going to make lots and lots of calls to insuarance companies over the next week, before I decide, what to do...
I am looking at a big alarm in the time being though,...

What do you guys think of it? Seems really really cheap...

Hi all, you might want to check out TORQUE - they are based in all states and all policies are underwritten by Lumley Insurance (they're meant to be big). For rating 1 I was quoted less than $1000 with rating protection included. Their excess was reasonable also ($750) - I tried UNIQUE CAR INSURANCE, they were cheaper but because I have a body kit on the car they wanted to add another $500 to the excess - (making the excess over $1500). Hope this helps. Cheers, Andux.

someone just mentioned QuickTrak...
ummm they are in voluntary administration at the moment, i wouldn't be adding a quicktrak system if you don't alreayd have one....
Also the copmpany i am contracted to at the moment use QT systems for tracking all their cars/trucks etc. The system is actually pretty piss poor in my opinion and i'm working with a company Rojone (www.rojone.com.au) at the moment to build a better system.
Rojone's system is pretty damn good and a lot more accurate (easier to hide as well) than QT's.
QT: use Telstra Fleet comm's which is radio tower based location. Not all that accurate and prone to false readings, dead spots, reflections, poor locations, etc. Only works in Metro areas!
Rojone and other Modern sytems use GPS based location fixing which is a great deal more accurate and in Rojone's case use GPRS (mobile phone) Technology for transmission of the location data. Works pretty much everywhere in australia.
If you are serious about installing a tracking system i would look elsewhere and stay away from QT.

I have been pricing insurance for both a gr and gpx. The only place I could find was Just Cars. Their price was $1300 on the GPX, but it has now gone down to $1250 (huge price drop I know
The GR was ~1100. To turbo it would cost another 50.
didn't matter auto/manual.
I am 25 next sunday and am on a rating 1.
