Steering Rack

Post by Bennoz »

Yep, next item up to fail is my steering rack. Pissing out fluid on both ends.

Anyone pulled theirs out before? Cock of a job? Anyone had theirs reco'ed? If so, where & how much?

It would appear all the poor 150,000km old factory items that I've never touced are not coping with all the horsepower...

I havent had mine out.... But it looks to be an absolutle wank of a job....especially if you have a turbo close by.

If it's like every other FWD/ AWD car, then, yes, absolute bitch.

Ended up replacing mine in the Magna..... twice...... Mitsu certainly didn't plan to have snail power failing the things.

Cost me $1100 to get one removed and reconditioned. You can probably most certainly get it done for less than that as that was my "pedders rip you off" lesson years ago. I have a few good 2nd hand ones lying around Ben if that helps. Even have one removed and sitting in a box in the shed. Was supposed to be for someone else, but it never went ahead.
