Reversed into

Post by vipfto »

Was moving my car for the missus so she could get hers out and go to work, had to wait for a car to go before i could get out of driveway but she just kept going and backed into me

Only damage is bumper as her tow ball went under mine where grill is but she decided to go forward pulling it out

So far I can tell its just bent bumper out of shape from tow ball and pulled it away from the skin that attaches it to top two brackets, and her l/r corner also hit mine leaving a decent mark and possibly skewing it slightly out of shape.

Not sure if they will be able to repair the bumper but if not does anyone know of insurance allowing for an aftermarket one? As pretty sure will be more expensive to replace original than something else if need be?

I'll put up some pics when daylight tommorrw

Arrrggg, not good.

As to aftermarket bars, I still have one of the Factory Ts ones sitting here........ It could potentially have your name on it.....

was thinking that too but only if insurance will allow it also I would have to get indicator pods and foglights which I dont hink they would cover as mine are not damaged....

I know rockit did his as a part of his insurance claim. I think all you need to do is to negotiate it with the repairer. As long as it doesnt cost more , you are sweet. And the insurance company probably needs to provide you with a new bar and new genuine bars are far from cheap. As to the lights, most of the people that have bought these are only fitting the indicators. I think that they are mostly planning to use the foglight pods for CAI.

You could always come to the bonfire to save on freight and get it fitted. After backing into you, surely theres a bit of guilt :P

Question, why didn't you blast her with the horn to make her stop. Second question, what was she doing out of the kitchen?

Hmmmm this could really be a win/win situation Im only guessing that they wont repair bar so should be fairly easy to convince them for different one, it will have to frieghted as now just wont be able to get time off work, but I wont be paying for it anyway :D

@Ftevolution yeah I blasted her (must of had pink up too loud  ) And I let her out once in a while so she can earn me some play money  Or get to the shops to get food so she can stay in the kitchen

Build some rapport with your smash repairer, it pays off. He should have no problems allowing an aftermarket part.

Just to give you an eg - When my car got rear ended, I bought project F tail lights for $1400 and the original lights were 800, I just paid my repairer the difference and he allowed it.

Also, my DC rear bar was damaged in the accident and he said I could get another aftermarket bar and he'll allow it or he can repair the old one.

So i'm sure you'll be fine as long as you make an effort towards building a little rapport with the boss ;)

PS - Time for a new wife.
I have to work - People on the dole depend on me.
