Changes in the FTO lineup?

Post by -Nighthawk- »

Hey,
was just wondering what changes there were from 1994-2000 with the FTO. The only thing I can think of is the slight facelift and ABS brakes. Anything else added?

There were lots of options that werent model specific eg a person could buy a gr and get abs were someone else could buy a gpx and decide he didnt want to pay extra for abs

Just noticed that list of FTO models. Mine is a 1995 GP model, (as says under the bonnet) however it seems they were only built in 1996? :\

A GP won't be MIVEC, that would be my first clue. Also, let's not forget the sunroof/traction control/illuminated door models.. I miss my old full option GPX.

It's not Mivec, but I think it had an engine replacement so I'm not sure on the original engine. I'll get the exact model tonight, but I'm pretty sure it's a 1995 GP

You may have to elaborate a little more there, I am not familiar with your car in any way shape or form

Nup, wrong. There is a padded centre console that came as a factory option (which I have bought) that gives you 2 additional cupholders.

[edit]Actually the GP should be mivec as its the early spec for the version R. To start with it was just called a GP, but that became a GPvR later on (and subsequently was not available in blue :( ). It could be the dates are slightly out as I pulled that infor from quite a number of different places and there were inconsistencies. If you run your chassis number through the chassis decoder on the Complete FTO webste, that will tell you for sure.[/edit]

does it prevent you from shifting gears like the original cupholder?

My chassis information doesn't match up with anything :\
      Here's the specs:

      Model: E-DE3A HRHM3
      Chasis: DE3A-0021578
      Engine: 6A12

      Mitsubishi AJV FTO DE3A 1995

      Anyone know the exact model?

Anywhere where I can buy the cupholder?
Also, my car says it's a GR limited which is interesting. The sticker looks old and looks like it's been on there for a while with the GP :\
