Fuel consumption is not right

Post by payaya »

Hey all,

Someone is wrong with my car. Fill the tank and I probably get bit under 400kms from a tank, prob 2-3 liters left in the tank sometimes!! I use to get over 500kms easy.

I drive the car to work, peak hour traffic one way to the city, freeway on the way back.

What's should I be checking with the FTO? Or is Melbourne traffic getting sh*t and its perfectly normal??

Whats everyone else in Melbourne getting? No need for results from other states!!

Thanks

When you fill up how meany Leaters will it take?

You said you would have 2-3L left in the tank then you would have put in 57-58L in the tank.

As for the drop in K's per L try a new O2 sencer my fix it.

FTO has a 60L tank? Why does mine only go up to 40L then?
I am getting about 400KM out of a tank, or 10L/100KM driving in Melbourne traffic, which has become a real bitch as of late

Engine temp sensor for the ECU could be playing up. Dash is a different sensor and if the ECU one is goosed it thinks it is cold all off the time and overfuels it.

have you ever had the fuel light come on?
When that comes on then you have 8-10L left.
I can go right under the E line befor I ever get to 14L

The lowest I have gone is the needle touching the top of the E. I know that is the limit as it was stuttering from not enough fuel.

That would be an extra 20L then. I have pushed mine to empty on purpose in my old GPX(had a mate following me until I ran out twice just so he could tow me) and it was right on the button of 62 litres to fill it up the spout.

Averaged 600km of mixed driving both those times.

I have never filled up below the "E" that's probably why everytime I'm at the petrol station I see 40L
