Post by dj_ules »

Hey guys just took my poor overheating fto to a mate to look at ... and to hopefully rule out the possibliity of a new headgasket .. i need to replace a part....
the part i dont know what its called i forgot but its the aluminium shaft with the 2 12mm bolt on on what you attach and tighten the radiator cap to.

i need a new one. mine is corroded ive checked camskill but no luck.. would any one know the price or part number or name of this part i am after.. ima try and look for a 2nd hand one if i cant get a new one..
thanks for your help. guys

Na but good
you sure its the filler and not just gasket from under neath where it bolts on or actual radiator cap? just strange for filler to crack thats all

MAKE SURE you replace the thermostat while you are at it too :)

thermostat is not that old was replaced about 5000kms ago. but apparently its corroded up the top so its not making a good seal with the radiator cap.. and not holding the pressure spitting coolant out through the tank

For the sake of $30 tops, you should replace the thermostat again if it is likewise corroded up as you say.
