Any Questions for Mitsubishi
Hi guy’s,
I now have many contacts in the Mitsubishi Head office in Japan.
So far they have answered every question that I have asked them.
I was thinking that if any of you had any questions for them, you could post them here and I could make a list and get them to answer them.
*Please note that I am only going to do this once, as these are my work colleges and can’t really be bugging them every two seconds with non work related questions.
So if you have any questions for them, be they about the engine to the interior, post them here and in a week or two I’ll post it off to them.
Try to make the questions as clear as possible.
Enjoy.

How about this one:
Why isn't it possible to purchase the wiring loom for facelifted LHS foglight/indicator assembly without purchasing the whole light unit for $600+ ? They're only wires and plugs, yet I'm told that I can't get them separately
. Surely they can manufacture them independently.
Thanks for doing this Black_FTOGPX

And more specifically...
Q1:
On detecting pre-ignition, does the FTO's engine ECU simply retard timing for a few seconds, or does it fully switch over to a low quality fuel timing arrangement?
If so, how long are we talking? ie. How long before the engine ECU will again attempt to advance the timing back to "good quality fuel" mode?
Q2:
What's that little orange light that comes on in the top right corner of the instrument panel when new FTO owners corner or brake suddenly?
Okay, only slip that one in if the Mitsy guy wants to hear FTO in-jokes.

Hey, I'm not sh*t stirring, I was genuinely complimenting you on a good question, as that information is required for other things, such as anyone who uses that home dyno kit thingy, and I had forgotten all about it.dannyboyau wrote:lets leave that discussion forgotten, I am curious what it is for the differant models

Why was the fto discontinued in 2000 when if mitsubishi had marketed the car overseas it would have sold much better and would probably still be around today as another face lifted model. The world wide interest in the car and cult status the fto is achieving proves my point. Are we likely to see another incarnation of the fto?
