Agreed!

Depending on its price when it releases next year, I've already decided that if I get accepted into the airforce, I will be selling my FTO and getting a loan for one of those babies!

Yeah I read that recently also but when it first came out at the Tokyo motor show it was touted as the new Supra, and the Celica has been fwd for the last few models, so being rwd, though it does look more like the last Celica from the pics doesn't it...
Time will tell ;)
Be interesting to compare this with the new Nissan GTR...

"1500cc 2NZFE 4cylinder producing 120 ps/6000rpm and 8kgm/3800rpm coupled to a 5speed manual"

they are trying to make it weigh around the 1000kg mark aswell

sounds like fun :D

Haha no. The Toyota will be significantly cheaper and targeted towards a totally different market.
Think base model prices of around the 40k mark. The GTR is 150k...

i bet you sr20det's and rb25det's will soon find themselves inside the engine bay.

the 1jzgte and 2jzgte would make it to front heavy

yeah, I was going to say the stock engine is pretty lacking so you can expect all sorts of engine conversions like they do to the ae86.

I'd expect the 4AGZE to be a popular choice.
