17" or 18"

Post by TW »

Hi guys
i need to know if 18"X8" wheels with a 35mm offset will fit an FTO. On other forums they have said no but on CARSALES.COM.AU there is an FTO with 18" 215/35 on the front and 225/40 on the rear :?:

215/35 is referring to the tyre width and profile, not offset...

most ppl i've come across who advertise their wheels would have no idea what offset they are anyway...

if you're using 215 tyres up front, it 'should' fit... don't take my words for it though'.

...it could also depend how much the car is lowered, because it could rub your inner guards at full lock.

i run 17's 235*45 .... get a bit of rubbing but traction is fantastic (except on the race track but that is tyre choice) and i very rarely need to go to full lock....

i'm running with 18x8.5 with offset of 35 ...tyres are 225/35/18 front & back.

had no probs with this set-up.

I would keep the front & back tyres the same width as I previously had a honda prelude VTEC YO!!!!! (jap import) and when I bought it it had wider tyres at the back and it used to understeer a lot more until I matched the tyre widths.
