well i found a new motor and will be paying for it when i get home.
when i get the motor up here i will be doing a compression test, changing timming belt and water pump and the cam seals. Also have got a set of exhaust cams to fit 2.
We are also changing the pvc valve that died on the last motor which stopped the motor getting oil. So this problem wont happen again BUT does anybpdy know were to gt one or what the part number is for the 6a13 BEN lol
hey ben mate were did u buy your new timing belt from. Did you buy it from mitsubishi genuine or did you get a aftermarket one? Also were did you gt the water pump from?
I think it works out much cheaper to get an aftermarket timing belt. I think its the 'gates' timing belt or something along those lines. Maybe someone will provide a part number for you.
your spending loads of money putting another engine in, get genuine parts they are always (normally) better quality. Its not worth skimping on things like cambelts, oils pumps etc..

I used a genuine belt. The aftermarket ones are more expensive than genuine believe it or not. Water pump was generic though. All the part numbers are in my thread, about page 4 from memory.

Hmm I got a aftermarket one from John at Unique auto sports, cost me under $200
Can't remember exact price but from what I remember it was pretty cheap.

Come on Subby, keep up. We're talking 6A13, not 6A12.
And if your paying around the $200 mark for a GR belt, you got reamed! My last GR belt was $90 bucks.
