A few problems

Post by chuster »

Hey all

First is recently, after driving the car continuously as in highway with no braking for a decent amount of time and i hit the brakes, the top left light (washer bottle?) and bottom left light(overheating) come on and I've topped up my washer bottle and coolant.

Next is in the past few days, I've noticed squeaking noises coming from the rear left side of the engine bay (near the driver) which is at its worst just before i turn off the car. I was wondering what kind of belt issues i would have?

And lastly, just this morning when i cranked the car, it just made a ticking noise but wouldnt start. I assume this is a dead starter motor? And could it be related to the belt noises?

If you were wondering its a GPX.

If it is the starter motor, does anyone have one lying around? (dstocks :D )

Cheers

Ive got a starter motor, but i reckon its the battery. Itll make a ticking noise if its flat. As to the squeak, I think that might be one of your idler pulleys (there are 2 of them, one on the timing belt and another on one of the other belts. They have a habit of squeaking when they get dry. If it ends up being that, I can get new ones.

I already changed the battery before. Also I noticed it wasnt quite a ticking noise, it sounded like metal hitting metal
