URGENT. CAR WILL NOT START

Post by fto13-marty »

Just tried to start my car and it will not start, drove it earlier this morning and not a problem but now wont start, when you put the key in ignition acc works fine but when youi turn it all the way to start you hear it click 2 or 3 times then nothing....
Any help appreciated.

Was thinking car battery was all but dead so i am currently recharging it to check if thats the problem.

Well, if the battery is ok, the starter is starting to fail. Just hit it with a hammer a couple of times & try to start it. Then start looking for a replacement. Its 2 bolts to swap out.

It right on the very front of the motor, down low. Easiest to get to from underneath ;)

You'll probably find that it is the same starter thats used by the HJ Galant (sold locally in Aus.) So if you start asking local suppliers that may help.

Alternatively, one of the guys here will have on I'd say.
