Hey guys, i will be attaining my license in the near future, and as such will want to buy something nice
(before you think, oh god another teenage hoon, im far from it )

But as said in the title, im just looking for a little background information on the FTO, and who better to ask than you guys!

Yea I have looked at the forums and got a good idea, (thanks!) but I've realised that many were posted some time ago.

But the burning question is, how much would you rate a decent FTO? Which model?
My price range is max around 10 000
and I would be wanting a manual (makes things difficult)
should I just pack my bags and move on?
or is there hope?

Have a look under the general menu. That should give you a stack of info on different models/options and what to look for when buying. To get a good one, be prepared to spend somewhere between 10K and 12K. You can get them for less, but as a general rule there is a good reason for that.

ive done a bit of research, and when you see figures which are realistic, you sorta just want to make sure

ill continue looking further into the FTO, and hope to return with the actual car

you would want the GPX model, which has the Mivec engine, which is the top end one.

If you want the race spec fto, get the GP version R.

make sure you do your research prior to buying the fto here:

A decent fto will be around the $10,000 figure, but they can be had for cheaper if they have higher km's, bad condition, mechanical problems, etc.

yes i have done some previous research, got a general idea and such
(but there is always more to learn!:))
just my main question was if the FTO's you see for sale around 8k are actually a decent buy
or whether those few extra thousand can save more down the track
but all in all, it looks like im going to have to look under the couch for those few extra pennies to get a decent FTO.

so if your still selling in 2-3 months... (which you wont, because that thing will go fast!)

i live on the central coast of NSW
and yea, the GPX did catch my eye
but i may end up finding a lower-spec which is just perfect, you never know.

but thanks guys, for your help.
as said before, i hope one day i can return as a real memeber
and not just a kid wanting to buy one
