Removing wheel, but wheel stuck on car!

Post by jeremywe »

I tried to remove my rear left wheel.

Jacked up the car, removed all the nuts, but the wheel still seem stucked to the car. No freeplay at all, feels at though they had the nuts securing them tightly.

I tried refitting them... went out for a drive, came back and tried removing again, same problem...

The other wheels came out without an problems.

Anyone knows whats the problem?
Can i solve this myself, or do i have to bring it to a workshop? How much do you reckon i get charged for it?

Thanks guys.

Did u trying giving it a hard knock? This will usually loosen it up. Just get your fist and give it a big whack against the tyre.

my friend had the same problem...it rusts onto the wheel hub.....we ended up putting heaps of wd40 on it and kicking and punching it.....it came off eventually...just make sure your car isnt on the jack when you give it a good hit because youll push your car over 8O get some pin stands or something...

Nah u should be right. Just give it a few forceful hits around the tyre. Just don't belt the crap out of it if it doesn't come off.

When u do hit the tyre, do remember 2 hit the top session (near the wheelbase), cause if u hit the bottom session, as it come off, it might fall on to yourself, eg: toes 8O but if you hit the top, it will just losen up & won't fall off.

& like everyone said, this is a very common problem.
