Urgent, oil leak white somke from engine bay
Found oil leak few days ago with some burning smell, then i changed the rocket cover gasket and the engine oil as well. Engine oil fill to max level.
After I went for a drive, I smell some burning and when open the hood i see some white smoke comming out. Double check rocket cover nothing leak.
When I check the engine level, it drop in between max and min, i refill about 400ml to get it back to max.
Checked coolent is on max level and clear.
any one have experience with this engine, where else can be leaking.
it is mivec if this info help

uhhh its from the engine bay, i.e the manifold. spilt oil on the hot manifold causes white smoke. it comes on after 15-20 mins as the manifold gets hot after that time and the oil reaches its latent heat of vapourisation. so then it evaporates leaving white smoke. it should clear up after a few drives.jwa wrote:the smoke is from the engine bay not from exhaust.
the smell come out when i drive for 15-20minutes,
so it is burnning the engine that leak from engine or burn the oil remain on the engine

OK, to put this as simply as possible. The engine has an exhaust manifold bolted to the front and back of it. These join into a pipe under the engine that runs to the back of the car. Usually the oil will leak out of the engine somehere above the exhaust manifold or the pipe and drip onto it, causing the while smoke.
