URGENT!! FTO Seats

Post by G_A_V »

Ok I hopped in my car thismorning all excited ready to head off to the track day, I adjusted my seat and bang, my seat fell back, the top half disconnecting on one side to the bottom half. Its a bit hard to describe how its come apart, but it doesnt really look repariable. Now this means I cannot drive my car at the moment (and i need to get to work and uni !) So my options are.
Find anyone here who has replaced their drivers side seat with recaros or any other after market seat. ANYONE GOT SOME 4 SALE ??
Or (B) Get an Aftermarket Seat, Now there is no point replacing the comftable sporty bucket seats with crappy ones, and I have had a little look through my local shops for aftermarket ones, but it looks fairly expensive to get a new seat + rails, and While i dont mind spending around 400-500 on a nice seat, Attaching it in the car is going to be a big hassle.
Basicly what im asking is has anyone got stock seats for sale, or has anyone replaced their existing seats with aftermarket ones and reccomend a kit (including rails to attach the seat in the fto) which is affordable (obviusly that rules out recaro :( ).
The final option i guess is to repair the current ones which may be possible with a welder, but i dont know how long this seat would support me or how safe it would be if it were repaired.

Jap seatbelts can not be used in Australia. All seatbelts are replaced during compliance.

for those who are not aware, all post 96 imports (regardless of make and model) must be fitted with ADR approved seat belts... This was the one thing that I was not told about and I was charged freakin' $650 extra to have these suckers fitted!

But glad to know you've found a spare! :)

Sorry to hijack the post - but on the subject of seatbelts, should a new seatbelt be fitted to my car (if it's not written off - still waiting to hear) after my accident??? Does anyone know if this is covered by insurance cos I'm sure I heard or read something to the effect that seatbelts must be replaced after an accident..
