Hi! was browsing thru carsales when i first saw RVR. got really obsessed with it and was thinking of ways to get 1. Now im the proud owner of this RVR HSG!

Problems:

-car running too rich, would be getting a retune but yet to decide which EMU. any recommendation?
-twin clutch is really hard to drive... wish to change it.
-loud exhaust to my liking.. looking for a quieter exhaust. any recommendation?

Future plans:

-Tune
-Suspension upgrade. saw a pair of cusco strut top and aiming for the TI 2000 springs. Strut brace.
-250~280 atw hp. my daily car so dont want it to be thirsty on petrol.

They are a good car, and very easy to get parts for with evo running gear!

Here is the interior shot and engine bay shot. recaro seats~

they are 1500kg. a lot heavier than FTO so cornering wise wouldnt be as good. Currently running 14psi boost, feels good on the straight not sure if it would beat a FTO though.

Really love the space of this rvr! ease of sourcing engine parts as well.

Oh wow.

That extra piece ontop of the dash for the headunit is awesome.
Looks stock and makes it so much easier for the stereo.
Meanwhile, my stereo is dual din, so can't do it.
But might for my extra gauges.

Ours comes with the digital compass and clock in the pod box thing, which I'll be junking.

Can't rate these cars high enough.. They are just too good...

now just wanna get it tune asap. Boost at 14psi and somehow i feel boost is leaking or not giving me enough power haha.

Got a quote on reflashing ECU for $900, or emanage blue for $1440, or haltech e6x for $2200, or Link G4 plug and play ecu for $3000. all include installation and tuning.

Reflashing looks good and cheap but retune would be another $900 i guess. so which shld i go for? or is there some other options?

remap the stock ecu, I am going down the same path.
Who did you get that quote through?
I'm most likely using MEEK, they will also be repairing the ECU, replacing caps, etc.
Unfortunately mine is a bit more stock standard than yours..... at the moment

haha yea, i wont be doing much modification except re-tuning. Well, was really interested in changing to a new cam but nothing can happen unless i sell my fto haha

just spent 2 hrs shifting the air con back to its original place! finally got a glove box now woohoo!

Ordered new HKS 3 layer dry air filter to replaced the current dirty one as well. gonna check spark plug condition as soon as car cools down.

did u ask VR401 from evocrew forum about chipping? seems like hes able to write program.

evo crew forum is so barren.
Seen my posts? they don't get responded to, or will take a day or 5 for one.

With VR401 you have to remove the chip yourself, certainly not something I am willing to risk...

But flashing the eeprom i the best route over replacing the ecu altogether.

yea reflashing eprom is one better choice to retain factory setting i think. i read from another forum that evo 7 ECU is suitable to evo 3 ECU. dunno how true is that.

btw do u know which spark plug to use for the rvr? i tried removing it but it was so TIGHT that my tool broke... and the tool was brand new.. need to get a stronger 21mm socket haha..

I think one guy removed his plugs had '5's in it, then was told to put in '7's but was a read I did a while ago.
