Why you ask?
This Kaz's sons car. A 2.4L 86 Nissan Navara ute..
It rolled in the driveway the other day with a blown head gasket, so it was a good excuse to use up some old Weber's I had sitting under my workbench
Figured some of you old timers would appreciate the old skool go fast bits.
2 x 45mm DCOE carbs
New manifold to suit
Extractors
Mid range Crow Cam
Converted to double row timing chain from single
Thermo fan added to remove old fixed unit
Reco'ed the head with some mild porting & 1mm taken off the deck height to bump up compression
Will pop up more piccies up as I aseemble it

why can't you?
might be a solution to my "stepper motor" problems lol i kinda miss my old 720 ute. is this navara an 1800cc? was just an upgraded 180b motor, which was an upgraded datsun 1600, plenty of go-fast bits made for them !!!

Nah its actually a Z24 block (2.4L)
A few bits made for them, not a huge amount thou. I was surprised we ere able to surce a dual DCOE manifold for it, let alone a hot cam!

going by the condition of the engine bay, the shiney head and carbs might just be the best part of the whole car !!!

Did a run down @ Eastern Creek the other night, just for the fun of it. The 2 tonne bastard managed a 17.4
Webers ftmfw!
We're gonna try some larger jets & pissing off the air filters (in favour of ram tubes) to see what she does. I reckon those changes, plus some new rubber on the rear, we'll get her in the 16's. Stock FTO owers look out! For a cranky old blue ute!

Well, easy come, easy go..
Last night she sheared off the timing chain tensioner & dropped a majority of the timing gear into the sump. Bent every valve & cracked every piston
SR20 time. Anyone know where I could source one cheap (engine / box / loom / ECU) that would be great!

try pulsar forums (might have to sign up to get access to the for sale section)
or this on eBay --->
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Nissan-SR20-Non- ... 19b792d1b3
Its @ $800 and just need a manifold + turbo to make it a sr20det
Downside is its in victoria.
I've seen non-turbo sr20's go for $400-600 on ebay, just have to wait for one to come along.

Wouldn't he be looking for a RWD SR20? In that case, what help would the Pulsar forums be?
