don't want to get your hopes up too much but we may end up with a supplier who is prepared to make these in smaller numbers.... i'll keep you informed
Ah sheesh don't say that now! I just hope smaller numbers means small enough to ensure demand always exceeds supply...

markyboy: the company already manufacturer them, they are not rebuilds like the Japanese ones (the Jap ones they take the tail lights out of wrecked FTO's and rebuild the lenses and other plastic bits). so they will be brand new as apposed to refitted used ones.

i have no idea on what their expectations are regarding qty as we have only just started talking to them.

stay tuned :)

I've seen the project F lexus lights and they use their own backing, it isn't a reused Mitsu backing. I know the white rather than the clear lenses do use Mitsu backings.

ive had 3 sets of the project f lights now and they were all fully new clusters. It wouldnt be possible to make them from reused backs.

maybe it was this supplier that we were talking to (spoken to far too many manufacturer's of aftermarket tail lights)...

however i do recall some conversations with the guys in japan that they were having trouble sourcing bits for the altezza style lights...

Another 10 sets or so arrived in the UK this week. As far as I know that will be the last sets sold by Project F. They are apparently a bit of a pain to make. Just a shame we can't borrow the mould and designs.

Yeah, I just got 12 sets of Altezza lights delivered this week. They are totally new units and shouldnt suffer from the same water leaks as previous ones.
Also got a set of the carbon fibre ones for someone and they look awesome, cant wait to see them on his car.

I dont think they will make more as the process takes too long as they have to send them away to get them plated.
