Well I reckon u should cop it sweet. You were doing 79 in a 60 zone and the poor light offered by your dials isn't an excuse. When u get back on the road you'll know to take it easy from now on.

Jono i hate to say this but:

There are 3 warning signs before every speed camera you should never get caught speeding.

Speeding along parramatta road is like putting your license in a blender and turning it on.

There is nothing you can do to appeal it i don't think as fixed speed camera's in NSW use magnetic strips in the road and are pretty reliable :(

if you only have a few months until your upgrade your P's you could not pay the fine and hopefully they won't suspend your license before you get onto green p's (if your not already on them), then you will have extra points and get away with it, it will cost you an extra 50-100 in dept collection fee's but maybe worth it for you.

er i just thought i'd add...

what i previously stated is simply my opinion and that the, FTO Club of Australia in no way supports the circumvention of Australian State's and Territories road rules :)

yeah wasnt paying attention didnt notice the signs but i knew that there was a speed camera there just i dont know what was wrong with me because usually when i go driving with my friends i remind them there is a speed camera at auburn burgerking near the train tracks
but this time i just i dunno

late night driving i guess

hey i was just wondering if it says "speed cameras used in nsw"
does that mean there is a speed camera in the area
because usually i dont see one
but when i see "speed camera used in this area" i see one

i guess he's low on points, like steve said, delaying the process until you are off your P's or get some points back (which seems unlikely considering your age) is the best bet

just bombard them with letters giving them an excuse a couple of weeks before it's due

in the court of law you can actually be let off if you have a good reason like you were on your way to the hospital/doctor/home for some emergency situation, like your wife giving birth, or your grandma is about to die, or you need to take some vital medication, or something along those lines... of course you would need a doctor's certificate or some evidence of such

im not saying you have to use those examples in your letter, if you are just trying to delay the process then just give some reasonable excuse, and if they send a letter of refusal, then send another one, and another one until they finally say something like, no further letters will be accepted, you must pay up by this date etc..

but how much was speed a contributor to that accident should be the question - theres a difference between driver's stupidity and driving over a said speed limit which may not always be reasonably set - but defintely combination of both will lead you into trouble.

I know the feeling, I just got an Infringement Notice in the mail yesterday. I knew when it happened cos I my son had had a problem in school and decided to land it on me just before the speed camera (the one I know is there on a road I travel at least once a day!). I have appealed it, as in over 20years of driving I have only ever been fined twice - once for red light (according to the cop that was following me not a camera!!! I didnt agree) and the second time for speeding (I wasnt actually driving but took the fine for some else) Both of these fines were over 10 years ago. I'm hoping the appeal works based on my clean driving record cos I actually dont make a habit of speeding as anyone who was on the cruise to Kiama can attest to!!!!

Jonowong buddy I know how you feel I lost my licence for 6 months, I've got it back now but it really does suck when it happens.. and guys dont burn him to bad it's happened to most of us (i mean getting booked for speeding, etc) sh*t I've done 130 kph OVER the limit on a friday night up a road that has cops on it every friday night, luckly not at the time that I did that... Feeeew!

Hey you reckon that if I was to have got done for driving 200 in a 70 zone, would using an excuss like I didn't know what speed I was doing as the needle feel to the bottom of the dial after it reached 180 kph have gotten me off :?:

Hey Jonowong you could try to use the excuss "I was late getting home to watch 'There something about Miriam'on tv." I think you would get the simpathy vote and get let off

Any buddy I'm sorry to hear that you've lost it and hope you get it back soon...

...or you could say you work for the police IT helpdesk and the HR server had crashed so you had to get it up and running ASAP or the coppers won't get their next payrun... ;)

watch the reaction on their face, and if you're lucky they might even give you an escort...
