Knocking sound and DIY rear droplink ARB bush.

Post by Foe »

Ive looked everywhere and can only find a DIY on the front ARB replacement. Ive got a really bad knocking sound in my rear and from what Ive read its the droplink and ARB. Can anyone do detailed DIY instructions on how to replace the rear droplinks and ARB bushes?

Also wheres the best place to get these parts? Camskill? Is there repco (or somthing similar) alternatives?

Before you go to far, are you absolutely sure that's what's causing the knocking?

Firstly, the seatbelts can make a pretty convincing sound! I know it sounds stupid, but you'd be surprised.

When I first got mine I was convinved that the droplinks had gone, but it turned out to be the exhaust hitting the body. When I moved the exhaust pipe around I found I could replicate the noise. Might be worth a try.

Checked everything. Definetly not seatbelts, stuff in boot or exaust. Im sure some of you guys have replaced them yourselves. Ive read around and it sounds like it can be done in under a hour. Anyone?

Foe,

I would be interested as well.
I have a knocking from the rear left as well.
I have removed all the boot lining, the rear seats and the rear left trim. I have taped all wiring down. I have seat belt "sleaves" over the buckles to stop them knocking but still the noise persists.

Help!

its really not that hard...you just have to take the wheel off, find the drop link, unscrew it, and put the new one on....in regards to the ARB bush, just unscrew the bracket on the ARB mounting...i think its a 12mm bolt from memory... put the new bush in and screw the bracket back on....

its really really simple....i think thats why there isnt a write up on how to do it :)

i always get my stuff (ie bushes etc) from whiteline....they also stock superpro bushes that you can find on the camskill website....

so call whiteline or look on the camskill website to find superpro part numbers and then source the parts thru whiteline...theyre in nsw but theyll ship to you...
