Clutch has "click" noise

Post by eddiii »

When i release my cluth fully, it makes a "click" noise, while the car is on/off (but more often when its off). Dont know whats the deal there, its normal? or fuked? Might take it back to my mechanic soon for a check, but just want to know if its any big deal right now?

i would say most likely to do with the cable. Where is the noise coming from? in cabin or engine bay?

Get someone to press the clutch in and out while you locate the source

yes it is hydralic clutch, its a excedy H/D clutch atm, it sounds like its from the actual clutch inside the engine bay. its like a tapping/clickin noise

Could also be the springs on the clutch plate itself rattling. One of those annoying, yet no point in doing anything rattles that wont do any harm.

If its not the pedal thats needs lubricating, then I'd say it'd be the throw out bearing.

Would it pose any problems if me and howc continue to drive it as is? Or should we get it checked up and lube the pedal or change the bearing?

Ive asked my friends and they've said it isnt a problem so im not sure, thought id get a 2nd opinion

Went to my mechanic and he said its normal, since i told him it happens sometimes, and he replied "its due to the weather, when its hot or cold it expand" and once again it would cause no harm, if there is really a problem the clutch wouldve snapped the gears already. But thanks all :)

That was my thought, broken clutch spring... when i bought my other 6A12 motor it came with the clutch (you can have it if you want... mines a TIP) and had 2 broken springs... quite a common problem...
