Timing belt help please
I have just been through some of the old posts on this topic and don't seem to find the answers I need, I have just purchased a 95 FTO GPX Mivec engine with 88000kms on the clock and has a oil leak coming from around the timing belt so I have decided to get the belt changed at the same time my problem is i was told there are 2 different belts a different number of teeth and they can't tell which one will fit mine a until it comes off and my mechanic wants all the parts there before he starts the job so the car is not off the road to long so i am hoping that some one can tell me which belt will fit mine the engine number if that helps anyone is 6A12AR7273, and as i have only just brought the car I am flying a bit blind, and having trouble finding some in Brisbane local to Wynnum that even knows much about these cars, So i hope some here can help thanks

hi there,
i believe the mivec timing belts have 232 teeth, the non-mivec's will have less
The leak would most likely be your cam seals, im having the same problem. Mine is only a mild leak though.
Contact Dayco as they do a pretty good kit including belt, tensioner, idler pulley and cam seals for around $250 i think
hope that helps
