+1 to the hair dryer, fun times ;)

And grats for being off your P's. Question though, I know P is for provisional. What does it entitle you to do?

We have Learners, which enables you to drive with anyone who has had a full license for over 2 years at any time (classed as being taught). We have Restricted, which enables you to drive between 6am and 10pm by yourself, outside of those times with someone who has had full license for 2 years (big fines if you are caught with passengers who don't have that full license). And we obviously have the Full one with no restrictions.

So where does your P fit in there? Hitting your full license here is huge freedom. I got my learners when I was 15 (just a written and verbal test of the road rules), restricted before 16 (just 6 months on learners) and full when I was 17 (slack community constable just made me drive round a block and do a parallel park). Really easy 15 years ago here but a lot harder now.

That was a long winded way of asking what it's like getting your freedom in Aus now

EDIT! Sorry just realised I fully hijacked your thread... my bad ;)

all good on the hi jacking :P

When i got my p's there werent any really restrictions, just power to weight ratio... the new p platers have much bigger issues, like they have to be probationary for 4 yrs, i was only 3. they have a first yr p plate which is red n white-- only allowed one person under the age of 21 unless its family n they have a crewfew as to when n when not they're allowed to drive (im not 100% sure on the second bit but it was proposed) n then they move onto the 2-4th yr P plates which are green n white are not allowed to drive turbo diesel, v8s, turbo or super charged.

you can go for your L plates when your 16 in Vic n u must MUST complete 120 hours of learner driving before attempting to get your P's (driver test) n you have to be over 18 to be on your P's. so youre on your P's til 22 n then full licence, but because i got my licence before they changed the laws i got mine whilst 21! YAY :P

i want a hairdryer but i was told im looking at 8,000 because apparently they have to remodel the engine?

we can only accumilate 5 points on p's i had one speeding fine, going 119 in 100 (i know naughty for overtaking fast) 6mths after getting my p's so i had to try really hard because if u get caught a again n u say receive 3 demertis u either drive n if u get caught again its 12mths suspended licence or they take it off u for 6mths on the spot...:S
