PROJECT LUCIFER

Post by I8A4RE »

The project has begun.....

Over the next couple of weeks, months, probably years, I will be transforming my yellow 95 GPX "COYR" into a 4G63 AWD monster.

Heres what she looked like when i picked her up.
Image
The front bar was absolutly destroyed, engine mounts, stuffed stepper motor but apart from that in pretty good nik

Then after a incident on a cruise a few steps backwars

Now the overhaul begins
FIrst to get rid of the spoiler
Image
Image
But then that, of course, left holes
Image
so we need to fill them, I just used some body filler from the local cheaper auto spares
Image
Now that looks better
Image

Now to go round the rest of the body and fix any dents etc

I will be painting her silk black for a while but will not be the final colour, just want to practice painting and really just wanna see what it looks like in person

pity about the accident damage.. how did it happen?

have you picked up an evo shell / engine yet?

*edit* don't bother pulling dents etc right now ;) save that for later, after you've gotten all the mechanical work done .. right before the inevitable respray ;) you're more than likely to cause a few dents while you're doing the project anyways ..

Yeah, unless its got any damage which would lead to corrosion, that may need attention straight away if it already hasnt rusted.

Cant wait to see how this project unfolds. Should be an "educational" experience.

Woot! Project car!

Going to look forward to watching this develop. Are you planning to use an Evo or a Galant VR4 as the donor of your engine and AWD?

Yeah cheers buddy, i priced a windscreen through some wreckers.... $250 and then called obrien glass and for $400 bucks they supplied brand noobie, came out to my house and fitted it. So for that sort of money i just said bugger it.

Mate, ill definitly need some advice on sanding and paint ;)

Yeah should keep me very busy. No havent even settled on the land yet still waiting for soil testing, banks and legals to go through. Settlement is the 19th of this month so i am restricted to doing this work at the place I am at now.

Should have the neons fitted by tonight

Can't use the VR4 as the donor as the gearbox is on the opposite side. Good luck with the project mate. She will be an absolute weapon!

If you are taking any suggestions on styling, may I suggest something along the lines of...

Again, good luck. Will be watching this post intently!

So the Evo and the Galant both used the same engine but had the gearbox located on different sides?
