Nah I'm a hater simply because I am against anything that is mainstream. You talk to so many people and they are all like, oh man I'm gonna get me a skyline rar rar rar. I can't leave my house without seeing a skyline! There are like 2 just in my street alone.

I think the main thing that really annoys me is the amount of people who don't know anything about cars, own a skyline because "if it was in the fast and the furious, it must be cool", but it's a totally stock base model, with an extremely irritating cannon. So yea, I know there are genuine skyline drivers out there, but round here there are just too many tryhards.

IMO they are just so big, which when it comes to cars, isn't such a good thing. They were fantastic back in the day, but they suffer from the same thing that makes me cringe at a GTO as well. Size.

Also, IMO, they have great front guards (pumped, and look phat), but that is as far as the curves go. Seriously, the 350Z is the car to have for me, if I could afford one I would buy it in an instant!

Nissan make fantastic cars, and anyone disagreeing seriously have their heads in the sand.

I also stand by my first statement, your BF sounds like a complete ass hat. I agree to never let heavy footed mates drive your car, but your GF? From the late 80's there are only 3 Nissans I would ever bother with, the R30 GT (with the FJ20ET), the R31 GTS-X and the R32 GT-R. They are all where the marquee started, and some day I want all of those in my garage!

There is a certain refinement in most Nissan cars from the mid 90's, and I agree, the R33 GTS-T is a damn good piece of kit straight from the factory. My old man has a '97 Stagea RS4, nowhere near as quick as my car, but hot damn does it handle. Point to point, it would actually be quicker than my car by far (not as fun though).

And you gotta say something about aftermarket support for the Sky.line marquee. Damn easy to modify with off the shelf quality parts if you are that way inclined.

By the way, I would kill for one of these:

Just kidding, I love Toyotas, honestly, I love most Japanese makes (the least of which is Honda, but I really do appreciate the engineering).

When I thought my gearbox had shat itself I was about to buy a rebuilt GT4 Celica (the '90's ones, facelift with pumped guards, think it was a GT4 RC, can't remember now).

I won't drag this already off track thread out any longer by giving more of my biased opinions, but I my first car was one of these with the venerable 18R-GEU. Was a very fun car

One thing I will add though, Toyotas have fantastic reliability, well, except those POS MR2's... oops, did I say that?

I totally agree what you said about the views on sky.line's and people not knowing sh*t about cars.

you're actually kinda right about the MR2s

anything with a turbo can't really be classed as "reliable"
my mate has had his non-turbo for 10 years though and nothing has ever gone wrong except for a dead battery!

One thing to learn is that is is THEIR opinion, they don't drive your car so why should ''I'' care. Like how many of us hate chromies, yet AJ, ALEKEZAM, SIMON and ''ye who not be named'' roll on chromies. It shouldn't matter what people say coz theres always another dick around the corner ready to trash talk your ride.
