Dan werent you just giving sh*t to another member on here about having a crack bar?
I smell the subtle smell of........... Karma
I went back to try and find what I said, but obviously you deleted it. However, I can assure you that I was definitely not trying to lay sh*t on anyone about that car - I don't even know who owns it. I apologise if what I had typed was interpreted that way.
As for the karma, my car was hit BEFORE I made that comment
Upon closer inspection I found that my front bar has been twisted/bent and the bonnet has been bent by the guard quite badly too. Basically nothing matches up
Still haven't heard from police, but with that amount of damage, If I can't find the driver I will have to pay the insurance and just get them to fix it all for me. On the bright side, I don't have to worry about the scratches and stone chips in the bonnet that were driving me mad anymore (the only cosmetic issue with my car when I bought it), because they will have to repaint it
Good luck getting it fixed i hope they find the bastard
CHRISTIANITY: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

That sucks. There has been too much of this sort of thing happening lately.
I got a batch of headlights yesterday. One of those would get you out of trouble (or are yours factory xenons). Havent got a guard atm, but im thinking MZ_FTO should. You wont have chassis damage from something that small and the front bar looks pretty much untouched (which is good, because facelift bars are hard to find). Youll most likely need to respray the guard as Symphonic Silver guards are a bit of a rarity.
So after a series of extremely lucky events that would be impossible to explain, I FOUND THE GUY WHO HIT MY CAR. We told him the police were involved and he owned up immediately and agreed to pay for the repairs if we told the police to back off.
So now I get two new headlights, new guard, bonnet respray and bumper respray all at no cost So excited!

nice work now call the cops after you get your car fixed anyway
I'm curious as hell as to how you found out who it was .. please explain!
So the cops took their time running the search on the partial rego that they were given - three letters and description of vehicle - we had to hassle them for a few days to get the search done, and then on Saturday they said there were no Hiluxes on the Sunshine Coast with those letters in the rego. So I resigned myself to the fact that it would cost me $500 to pay my excess.
Then yesterday, my girlfriend's mum was driving home from work and she randomly spotted a Hilux with the same letters on the rego that the witnesses had given me. So she turned back and got the full rego. My girlfriend's dad (who is a lawyer with contacts lol) got someone he knows to run the rego through the database and it matched to an address a few blocks away from my house.
So we decided to go and find this house and see if we could take a sneek peek at the Hilux to see if there was any damage. As we were slowly driving up the road trying to find the address, the hilux suddenly came down the road behind us and pulled into the address. So we parked the car and confronted the driver. We simply told him that the police were involved and that we just wanted the matter sorted so that we didn't have to pay for the repairs. He immediately pinned it on some imaginary friend who he had lent the vehicle too, but I could tell he was lying and he had done it himself.
Nontheless, he agreed to pay the repairs and I will be taking it to the panelbeater tomoro to get a quote.
Clearly the Mooloolaba police are a bunch of lying dickheads who never really ran the partial rego and simply tried to fob us off by falsely telling us that no Hilux was registered on the Sunny Coast under that rego.

Wow, what an essay...
the police isn't supposed to run rego searches for ppl, well at least they are not supposed to give out the name and address etc to ppl once they have done the search...
either way mate, congrats on actually tracking the guy down
got lucky this time

There's potential for a thread about anything on FTO Australia

As I said mate, they didn't run the search, they lied and told me no one lived on the Coast with a Hilux under that rego. We have "contacts" who ran the search for us...
