and if he did?? whats wrong with that?

No different than getting a loan to buy anything else.. & there ARE stupider things to get a loan for IMO

If he's spending it on something that makes him happy, then I don't see a prob?
Lol gee, somebody's a bit defensive today! Don't worry, I wasn't giving him sh*t about it :)

If I was going to call him a tard for getting a loan, I would've said it outright (and you know I would've  ).
That's not what I meant at all though, my " 8O " was at the amount of money he got as a loan, it's a lot of money to be spending on mods (Almost double the value of the car :o )

Spend it wisely!

Keep in mind 18k is a lot of dough - Just make sure you really want to spend this much on the car. If you sell your car for lets say 10K worst case scenario, that's 28k to buy something else you may like.

Also, there's a lot of people who spend a lot of money on the car, then get bored 6 months down the track. Of course you should do what you like but just thought I'd throw it out there, it's a lot of money, just make sure you're doing is going to be worth it for you in the long run. Good luck.

Sub is raising a valid point, its good to do what makes you happy, just make sure you've thought it through, decided if its a worthwhile investment in the short/long term and your financially prepared. This means you can go into it comfortably if you decide to go ahead. Good luck :thumleft:

4g63 sounds good but considering no one has done it yet makes me a bit weary...
remember i only have a 18k limit here...
that includes exhaust and new shocks and lowered springs...

6a13 would be good if ben could help me out with parts and so forth so that i wouldnt have to fabricate any from scratch as that would not be very cheap down here!

and a gr hmmm that would be the easiest but thatll be my last resort i reckon...
No matter what option you go with, they're all going to require custom fabrication. Nvr2low was watching my conversion to the letter to try & find out what all these fabrications were (we even made his manifold the same as mine) but at the end of the day, the guys doing my car have made so many changes & custom work its not funny. From tiny little brackets through to all the plumbing. I've lost track of what is hand made & what isn't.

6A13 or 4G63, its all gonna be the same. Both motors are capable of 400kws at the fly if tuned right. What you have to do is have complete confidence in your mechanic - and be prepared to be without the car for some time.

alright so rpw said this to me after i told them about my discussion with my mechanic...

The stock compression on the 6A12 Mivec engine factory is 12.5 : 1. The compression we used for the hybrid motor was the same as that found in the stock 6A12 mivec engine. This in combination with the camshaft choice means it would be fine on normal pump fuel and the life of the engine would be hte same as a normal enigne.

is this true?

Has it?

Cos his ebay auction ended due to the price not meeting reserve :o Did he sell it after that?

Anyway, Valandis, you can't imagine how much maintanence is required for that car you linked :?

Nah, check out his thread subbie. He said he ended the auction early as someone brought it

Correct, and Aza has been proven to not be the owner.

Meanwhile, wow, gotta love how so much incorrect information can lead to a stale sale.
Hope you get what you want in the end, but you're certainly gonna have a ride getting there by the looks of it so far.

Oh wow, didn't notice. Good to see it finally sold.

It's gotta be somebody who already owns a fto cos nobody is going to use that thing as a daily driver lol.

My cousin got taken for a drive in a TT supra which is 286kw atw. When the driver stepped on it, my cousin said for a moment the road was a blur.

Imagine 306kw atw 8O
