Well if u talking about E46, then i agree with u, but E36 are just plan crap. FTO got more feature then it.

I certainly get more looks from girlies now, than when I was driving my stock Lancer (which is more depressing than anything else  )... that being said my GF prefers the Lancer 8O
LED ALL the things.

speaking of gettin attention, on the way home tonight this guy in an oldish XR6 dragged me off the lines,
my clutch is on its way out so i wasnt even bothered trying, but he took off and kind of looked impressed with himself,
so at the next set of lights i blitzed him, even with some slippage when changin into 2nd

so. further down the road at a round about, he slowed down next to me, yelled out his window
'i may as well give up'

hehe.. i laughed my ass off

its obvious that i get more stares from ppl... either good or bad, i dont care.. i've had both girls and boys say "u drive a girls car" and also "dayyaammm thats a sexy car u got"...

it just depend on the person.. they either prefer looks or performance.. but most people who dont know much bout import/sports cars will look at an fto and think 'thats a good looking car'... after a while when they know what supra, skyline, rx7, s15 etc are, they'll say "fto is a girls car"... lol..

LOL, SilentBob, that's soo funny!
I'm also finding ppl looking at my car more, but you know, for the ppl that do say that fto's are for girls, it all goes down to that same old argument of the HP under the hood... and the funny thing is that they themselves probably drive a rusty VL. :)

So it's a shame, that ppl judge the fto so easily.
So far, i have never driven a car with such good handling characteristics.

Hi everyone, I gotta say that when most girls I talk to find out I'm after an FTO they are really impressed and they do like them. But on the flip side I find it wierd that a lot of you cop crap from mates with imports, mates of mine have a lot of respect for the ability and possibilities that an FTO has. Mind you these guys drive 33/32 GTR's, 12 sec silvia's, etc, etc. Maybe it's the guys that are afraid of you kicking their butts that are paying you out. On the other hand I even know of some guys that are like'it's not turbo so it sucks' is that what most of you guys cop?

actually its pretty easy to explain if you look at the motoring and motor sport backgrounds in australia they are dominated by big heavy V8's.

people see a little "hair dresser" style car (coupe / small engine) and automatically think it's going to be pretty slow and boring to drive.

most people once they've been in a FTO (except for GTR owners) appreciate the car a whole lot more.

What about the story about the bloke that designed the GT PS games? Apparently he used to drive a GTR until he had accident in it, and got scared. So, what does he go out an get next....yup an FTO. God bless him!

Oh yeah and back to the topic, I'm still surprised if a girl knew what an FTO was even though it's getting more and more common. <This is a just a generic comment - NOI> !!

:? Unfortunately all too true - I  have to admit I have a picture (well several actually) of my car as my screen saver - one of the girls I work with got so excited as she told me that she really LOVES the look of my "Hyundai S Coupe".... *sigh* Thankfully - she is now well educated in what an FTO is.... :P

8) I 'spose its no worse than on one of the cruises we went to Kiama, did a loop around the lighthouse carpark and one, obviously well UNeducated chappy happened to comment - "cor - look at all the supras"

(altho' I do feel that being mistaken for a Supra is somewhat better than a Hyundai!! :P ).....

Cheers Tanya

Funny that lots of ppl though FTO is a Supra, my car wash dude, & next door had said the same thing. Even the "3 diamond" badge at the front bumper is a dead give away

One night when i was going out nightclubbing i parked my car in the main street and some idiot walked past and said it was just a "pissy 4 cylinder".. should know his cars before he opens his trap!

But then again... even my friends can be wrong..

Once my friends and i stayed at a "Hot 4" chain caravan park, and one of my friends took one if the "hot 4" stickers, and said i should sick it on my car.... "It's a V6 dammit!!"

I agree compairing a Hyundai coupe to an FTO is a big insult.. Maybe not as much with the new Tiburon though..

interesting topic... ive had my fto for two months and it definitely interests the boys more than the girls, which is good for me:) haha
girls just think its a supra. i hardly ever see other fto's, but when i do i am definitely looking(doesnt matter if it is a chick or a guy).
i told a guy at a club last nite that i have a fto.... he was very impressed

Well i guess guys in general would look twice, or impressed if a chick drive either imports or a proper sports car.

When I first got my car my girlfriend loved the car (at that time we were not going out)
These days after letting her drive it, she hates it for somereason, she refuses to drive it cause she is worried she will not be able to control it, and she even wakes me up every morning when i park her uin, just to move the car out for her, because she is to worried she will take off to quick into a fence or something.

I tend to see a lot more girls driving them than other imports like skylines/supras... they're nice looking little beasties, can't wait till my gf gets one, should be fun to play around with - I'm sticking with my Supra
(I don't get this thing where people say FTOs look like Supras, they don't)
