thanks bushido. right now im just waiting to see how much it would cost to re-con the gearbox, if its too much i really cant afford it. then my last option is to buy a gr gearbox/shaft. so far this mechanic is just going to charge me about 500 for everything his done.

Sigh.. and what is it that he's done to charge you $500? Seriously, you don't have to take it to a mechanic that knows FTOs.. just take it to a DECENT reputable mechanic.

500 is the finishin price of everything. gearbox in/out, clutch replace, fuel filter replace, and not sure about the others yet. is that a lot?

If it involves all that stuff you mentioned then 500 bucks is reasonable. Does that price include parts?

Mm I change my fuel filter every 3rd service at 15,000kms and it costs $40 on top of my regular service =/

To replace the clutch after you supplied your own should probably cost around $300. I can see how he mechanic came to charginfg you 500, it's a little much but not completely unreasonable.

I still think you should take your car somewhere else, at least for a different opinion.

well i just saw mz_madz is wrecking her car, i pmed her to see if her car is a mivec manual, i saw an ad on ebay selling the car and i called it was her bf...he said its not a mivec but i asked jay6 about the car, he said its a mivec manual. Do any of you guys know if her car is a mivec? if it is i probably just go there and rip the gearbox out and put it in mine ^^ much cheaper that way. Lets hope it is.
