This is the chip that Steve called "one size fit all", which is true, cause they are non-adjustable/programmable & they are actually manufactured in Port Melb.

there are some minor inconsistencies in their PDF document that I would like to address with them (specifcally the straight line of the kW dyno results when i know MIVEC engines Drop off a little bit when the cams change over).

I’ve also asked them a few fairly specific questions around
* other car modifications and
* to what level can this be tuned.

The final question to them is will they let me independently test one to see if their claims are valid.

It is not a programmable one like a Microtech or other more expensive one however it I can verify the results it could be a good option for those who can not afford a Microtech (or similar) and the cost of installing and tuning it.

well considering the Powerchip costs about $1K the last time i checked, i'd rather pay a little' more extra for a full blown aftermarket ECU and tune the bitch proper...

it's more flexible and gives you more scope to improvement down the line if you decide to do more mechanical mods to the engine...

As for the powerchip, it can only perform up to a certain level and beyond that it's useless so BAM - there goes your 1k worth or whopper just like that....

My 1.99 cents...

When i spoke to them around 2yrs ago, they didn't gave me a good impression. One of the guy said the more mod you done to your car, the better the Powerchip perform.

Which we all know is full of crap, cause is not a programmable chip.

So instead i went & pick up a second hand Unichip, which cost me $400, & another $400 to install.

But then again, if Steve can pick it up at a good price, it would be a good alternative for anyone who just want to upgrade their ECU with minor mod (eg: air filter, exhaust)

mikey for your purposes i would say that a powerchip is essientally usesless, and i myself would probably go for a more flexible setup, that i can build on as necessary.

However my reasoning here is that a microtech is overkill for anyone who is simply wanting to do exahust / intake mods and a slightly cheaper less flexible chip is probably a good investment.

anyway we'll see if they are interested in independant testing and any input we can give to help improve the product.

the PowerChip from first glance they do have the ability to customise it to the fuel you use and the mods you have, i'm not 100% sure how cheap / expensive it will be to modify after it has been installed (i.e. you add our CAI stage II kit).

regarding leaning out the engine, mine is running already pretty close to perfect ratio 14 something and if this is how they achieve some of the results then my car will ping the minute its put on the dyno.

anyway our discussions are only beginning and hopefully and the end of the day will will come to an arrangement that benefits our members, as usual all discussions and full results will be published here on this site for all members.
