If you want a turbo and are not willing to do any work on your fto, then this car is not for you. I really think the fto is a car to be made for yourself (something unique). Thats why you see a lot of fto owners with things on their car that others would not do or just dont have the nerve of doing themselves.

cmon mate not all of us are automotive nerds

some would rather let the mechs do the hard work while we do other things

or you could save 20 odd grand on going turbo and sell the fto and get something that comes turbo like a evo, gto etc, be much more reliable to as the engine and car is setup to effectively handle the power,

Thats just a side bonus, not the primary reason you turbo.

would the 6a12/6a13 hybrid or a straight 6a13 be better?
the hybrid has a estimated 200kw at the flywheel NA...
but it would cost around $10000 for the motor
but my god what a engine...

what would be the approx overall costs involiving install for the hybrid?

If you are willing to put the time and effort into upgrading your car to a 6a13 then by all means do it. But if your just gonna get a mechanic to charge you through the roof and do all the work, say by another car with a turbo already in it. Maybe a r32, even an evo if you have the moeny.

$2000 to replace all seals?

Have to agree that the prices are steep. But here's some advice for you.
- Simon (I84RE) has a do it yourself guide for the o2 sensor so thats another thing you may wanna look at.

- You could find yourself another engine with low kms for around 1k that wouldn't need seals and what not replaced, then $500 to be installed.

- Order parts yourself and ask around here for help with the parts or search. Be saving yourself money big time

- Final thing is to think how long you want the car for. If your dead set on the loan and wanna keep the car for a long time, perhaps you should look into getting a complete rebuild done.

In saying that though, you're 18 this month and the last thing you want to be doing is getting yourself into debt. I work in finance mate so trust me, try and keep clear of it and save your money week by week.
