My baby is coming (soon)

Post by vipfto »

Seeing as we have decided to stay here in oz i've finally been given the go ahead to bring my baby over :D
only condition is that i pay for it myself not out of savings so will have to wait till after summer:evil: (bloody gf)

cant wait to attack the hills here they are similar to port hills I used to race around back home 8)

anyway will cost 5000 from storage in NZ to my door here in oz so if anyone knows a cheaper way would be grateful ;)

once here will be road trip to meet some of you guys in NSW and Vic and just maybe possibly visit my brother

5K seems way too high man, considering i see heaps of FTO's under the 7k mark. You have owned the car more than 12months???? then it should be way cheaper than that.

From memory you should looking around the 1k mark for actual transportation and another 2k for inport duty and compliancing.

When i was looking though that was to QLD maybe down there they are a little heavier on the tax. Do some research it might be cheaper to import to another state then just drive it home :D

I forgot to include rego but i can import a car from japan for just over 1k (transportation and insurance). So i dont see why they are charging so much from nz. The big cost when importing usually comes from the tax the aussie put on importing but when you have owned the car for more than 1yr, the tax halves if not more. I would be doing a ring around some other freight companies as 2.5k seems high, but hey thats just my 2 cents worth

had a setback, bought missus engagment ring and we had to buy another car for her which pretty much would of paid for the car to be here twice bynow  , but have looked into a few avenues and will prob import to melbourne then drive to here its cheaper on the fees (and the drive will be sweet)
the only thing that will be an issue will be compliance as will have to change back a few things  I feel its well worth it as the cost of bringing here will still be a lot cheaper than buying another over here esp with all the mods.

I figured get her ring on finger then I'm free to spend what I like on the FTO
But i'll keep you updated should have it on the ship hopefully within 3 months

i'll be posting up complete breakdown once it all done

so far shipping will be $2000 NZ so around 1400 AU :D incl insurance (for 20ft container so can fit all my other gear and 6a13 in
plus taxes and port fees at this end which should be no more than $2000

You looking at doing the move soon Grue?

@ Ben yeah I know  But i still like the shagging and dont think i'd be getting any for a long time if I got FTO here and started spending $$$ on that and forgetting about her

Well, since she said it had to come from your money (and it's your dream), you gave her HER dream of a ring, so about time it all comes out of savings :)

EDIT:

I am also looking at making the move in a year or so, once the job markets have stabilised a bit. Will be interested in seeing how much this was going to cost all up :)
