If i could of selected 2 answers it would have been No.1 and 3.
How come 8 people have made a choice yet there is only a couple of turbo owners who post on here often

OK .. Well my answer is in relation to putting the Evo engine into my Sonata ...
Yes it was a great sleeper, and there were little mods needed to the engine mounts.. But forcing an N./A. car to Turbo (especially when it is FWD) is not the best fun ...
Now it may be different for the FTO as it is a totally different car, but if I went through what I did with the Sonata, Ii would never look at it ...
I guess that is why I broke the car back down and put the Evo engine back into an AWD platform ...

Sonata's just don't compare to an FTO in the chassis stakes. IMO the FTO should have always been a turbocharged front driver.rock_it wrote:OK .. Well my answer is in relation to putting the Evo engine into my Sonata ...

I would like to say that they should have always had a 4G63/6A13 AWD setup, but honestly, considering the weight of the car, a 4G93T front driver with good gearbox and LSD from the factory would have been almost perfect for a mass produced car.
Back on topic, I know that this question isn't really aimed at the engine swap fraternity here, but I would do the engine swap again in a heartbeat... boost is addictive, especialy with minimal lag

I had LSD, coilovers custom made, thick as sway bars from whiteline and a lot thrown into suspension and handling too ... But yeah ... I still stand by not going it again ...
I have thought about it with the FTO, but it really is a great daily the way it is ... I think Aza is doing some great things still trying to go down the N./A. path ... And it will be good to see what the engine can do without Turbo ...

So is there anyway of telling who the 5 members where that voted "I'd rather just get a proper factory built turbo car instead.."
Cause i can guess maybe two of them but considering one's post count in the 6 months has been 3 and other would be 0. I fail to see how there can be 5
^^^^ totally agree with FTE

Oh ok cause im sure Mr C specifically wanted to hear from people that had turbo'ed a FTOrock_it wrote:I think the 5 (well 4 excluding me) are probably not people that have turbo'd an FTO, but they would rather buy a Turbo'd car instead of going to the trouble ...
But just my thought ...

But just my thought ...As im sure you can agree with me, every car is different. You wouldnt go turboing an excel now would you....... or would you

But Rigolli did do a pretty good Turbo Accent ... Although it was powered by a 4G63 .. I have seen the conversion done to an Excel ... And it was lethal .. Such a light car ... But no idea how the chassis will handle that one...
