Might be in need of an attitude adjustment when they pull you over .. you might find that if you are a bit more humble, admit the mistake & explain that "you judged it to be too dangerous to stop so suddenly for the orange light"
.. the stop sign you have no excuse for, but they might let you off the hook if you're nice about it .. but not if you act like (or tell them that) you shouldn't have to obey the road rules because it's 3am ..
besides.. you don't need to stop for 5 seconds .. just, all 4 wheels need to come to a complete stop & then only pull out when it's safe ..
then again, I've never even met you, so what would I know? you might've just gotten a bad run of asshole cops in which case .. that's messed up :S either way, I hope you don't have any more nasty run ins..
