Just wondering if the HIDs in the GPvRs can fit our normal GPXs?
If i am not wrong, the original hid kits bulb bases are called D2R and are diff from the standard HB4(9006) bases.
Is this is the case, is the entire headlamp cluster diff from the normal non hid lamp ones?
my GPX(1998 facelifted) does not have the hid fitted from the factory, used normal halogen bulbs but has the hid globe. does this mean i can rip off a hid set from the scrapyard and fit it in the car w/o fitment problems(especially since the bulb bases done fit)?
any help appreciated!

I've never actually compared the 2 headlights side by side except for the fact that there is an extra parking light in each head unit for the HID units.
From FTO to EVO......

Well on the Philip Island Melb cruize, I've notice Rxboy had a different headlights to others since his is post 95 model with an updated bumper.
It had an extra light bulb where the pre 95 model HB3 is.

Well, I figured that since my 98 GPX has the HID globe, the stock HID set(ballasts and D2S bulbs) should be able to fit. But i need a confirmation before i actually source a set from the scrapyard.
The HB4(9006) Lo beam bulbs are actually L-shaped, with the shorter length pointing downwards.
The HID ballasts are supposed to be hidden under the headlamp cluster with the connecting bulb holder(cylindrical) supposed to be fitted right behind the HID globe. This will in fact render the original 9006 L-shape connector useless as its pointing in a different direction.
The D2S bulbs are a straight bulb.
Hope you peeps understand my Singlish...hmm...
