Going Overseas!!

Post by DZYRME »

As some of you guys may know already, Im going overseas for two months in another 2 weeks :D However this means that I wont be able to drive my FTO for 2 months :(

I know that I should disconnect my car battery before I leave, but is there anything else I should do to my car before I go. I dont want to come back and have problems with my car. Will having my battery disconnected for so long affect my ECU in any way??

I don't know if this is true, but i heard that the best way to keep an engine in good condition when not driving it for ages is to completely fill the engine with oil, all the way. :?

This would prevent any rust or anything building up in the engine, where the is no oil because it has drained to the bottom.

Can anyone confirm?

leaving the battery disconnected for that period will reset the ECU in your car, so when you come back the car will have to 're-learn' your driving style again.

have fun buddy, behave yourself aiiight? :P:D We want lots of photos (with FTOs if possible haha...) and if you're gonna be in UK, see if you can meet up with our fellow Pommie counterparts ;)

Yeah have fun Brendon, like mikey said, we expect lots & lots of pics (epecially cars & chicks ehehehehe)

But then again, it would be better if you get lots & lots of FTO aftermarket's parts for us hehehee

you dont have someone to take care of it for you?

best thing would be to give it the weekly drive by some family member or trusted friend, or at the least turn on the ignition and leave it for a few minutes and rev it a few times...

or is this just an old wife's tale
