Excessive Heat Problem

Post by FTO_GPvR »

hi all, i have a question please help. is it my FTO or is it all the other FTOs the same, mine produces a lot of heat from the engine and you can feel the heat when your standing next to my FTO. the tempertature gauge is on 1/4 to a 1/2 depending on the traffic and thats normal every car does that. so im wondering why theres so much heat coming from the engine. i am keeping to the speed limit im just cruising. once the engine warms up and you start to drive for less than 30minutes you can feel the heat and this also happens when you drive for more than 30 minutes.
please help
thanks

Mine is the same dude ... When I drive her home from work, and put my foot outside the car, there is a fair amount of heat...

And I have a vented hood ... So just sounds normal to me... No where near as hot as the turbo and manifolds on the Lancer though ...

The hood is a bit hot, but most of the heat is felt when standing near the car, while it was running ... I think that I also don't have the full plastic wheel arches ... So the fan could throw the heat straight out there ... Which could also explain it ...

Yeah its normal. you have nothing to worry about unless your temp gauge goes over halfway.
