Help!! Whirrring noise from centre pully?

Hi Guys
Ive got a whirring/grinding noise from one of the centre pullys, Its sounds like either the pully attached to the crank or the one above/below.

How can i tell which pully it is and does anyone know what the problem could be? Should it be an easy fix?

Ive tried a little lubrication but this hasnt stopped it!
Any suggestions?

Sounds like a supercharger if that helps!!

prob bearings gone mate.... and try not to lube with likes of wd40 etc that just weakens belts.... not a good idea

Just drop the 2 belts off & check all the pulleys by hand. Most common one to go is the idler pulley for the belt that goes round the alternator (thinner of the 2 belts)

hey bro i had a noise commin out of my pully area too i took it to mechanic i had to wait week but it didnt make it there is a electronic timin belt tension not too sure what they could it right behind pully near cam ya mine snaped and smashed my block sent timing out bent pistons and valves etc etc hints y i selling some fto parts just pull cover off and check timming belt to do can never be too safe

I think... in English... with some punctuation, that means your timing belt snapped yes? Its a hydraulic tensioner too, not electronic.

na my timing belt didnt snap. it was just really messed u. i sry if i cant spell or have good puncuation. i never did well in school

Futher inspection pin points it to either the power steering , air con or the tensioner belt next to it. Can i remove the belt and start it will that be ok? Its really puzzling me?

You can revome the belt and start the car. You just won't have any air-con or power steering.

Though in regard to what Bennoz has said you shouldn't need to. Just remove the belt and check the pulleys by turning them by hand.

If it isn't any of the pulleys you are talking about or the alternator pulley or tensioner I'd be heading to a mechanic to get the timing belt and tensioner checked if your not happy to remove the timing cover and check it yourself.
