Omg Help Needed!
I just recieved a speeding fine for 80$ (lol at the amount)
BUT I GOT DONE FOR 6 DEMERITS FOR DOING 70KMS ON THE HUME HWY!! my mum will lose her license (on xmas)
i think shes on 2points and now she copped 6.
Soo just afew questions on how i can avoid my mum losing her license
- can a learner take the demerits cause we have 0?
- how long will my mum lose her license for?
- my mate said she can be on 1 point but any mistakes and she'll lose it for ages?

Hang on Charlie, none of that makes sense.
How did you get booked doing 70 on the Hume Highway??
If you're planning on getting your mum to cop the points, then I take it that it was a camera offence? Cause you cant transfer it to her name if a copper pulled you over & booked you in person.
If your mum has a full licence, then she's got 12 points, minus 2, that leaves her with 10. So if she looses another 6, she'll have 4 points left yes?
I thought a learner had 4 points?
If she looses her licence, she can opt for a 12 month, 2 point probation licence, or 3 months off the road & return with a full 12 points again.
And its the 'zero' points left that you can be allowed sit on - if you have a good record.

Ask the RTA what happens if a learner gets fined for double demirits ... This is your only way to confirm...
I know when I was on my L's, they were considered a permit, and not a licence... I had acumulated a speeding fine and a neg driving fine on my L's (not trying to brag here, and openly admit I was an idiot, so save your keyboard warrior fingers for anyone that is thinking of entering into an argument here) ...but was still able to go for my P's and never lost my licence ...
Now I know things have changed since then, but you would need to confirm with the RTA ...

Yep she can go on a good behaviour bond, which means that she can still drive but if she does anything else wrong in a 3 or 6 month period, they will come down hard on her.
My misses is on her second 3month one in a year
But hold on why is her license in jeopordy werent you driving?

In NSW you will have to take it to court and go for a Section 10 ... that is what the "Probationary Licence" is called... I have a traffic solicitor if you need him ... Good guy, very good at getting people off fines and stuff, located out at Parramatta....xSlurpee wrote:cause im a learner and shes always next to me simon lol
oh well gotta have a mad talk with me mum then and go to RTA and hopefully sort things out ... hopefully she can be on that good behaviour bond crap ... (my mum drives <5000kms a year)

Well your mum deserves to lose her licesnce then if she cant even control you speeding when she's in the car. What the hells gonna happen when you can drive by yourself
Nah just kidding man that is pretty sh*t. 6 points for only 10km is absolute BS.

L's - 0 points
Red P - 4 points
Green P - 7 points
Full - 12 points
So the question is, if its even possible, will you take the wrap for the fine? I think that either way they will still disqualify your mums license. But if you claim responsibility they might be a little easier on her and allow her a 3 - 6 month probationary license.

I'm not trying to be a dikhead but this is your fault and your mother is being punished for it.
I can't understand WHY you would be speeding on your Ls. You didn't learn your lesson the first time, and now you repeated it and it's going to heavily inconvenience your mother.
And don't take it to court and appeal it, just go to the RTA first thing and ask them if your mum can still drive. Don't do this yourself, get your mum to do it. She is more mature and there's higher chances of her being granted this than if you go ask yourself.
Gotta take responsibilities for your actions, hope this makes you think twice about speeding in the future, especially when somebody elses license is on the line.
End rant
