I can't even begin to describe how horribly wrong you are.tenji wrote:tbh i dont like the unichips at all.
many reasons why i dont, but i think they are the crappest things available for any car.
That product linked above is extremely rare and should be the ultimate desire for any fto owner as being the #1 bang-for-buck upgrade.

i work in the field mate i deal with these things all day long. Of all the piggy backs to damage motors these have probably the longest list.
Also tell that to the many owners who have used it and sold them off due to damaging their motors.
Best bang for buck mod... i think not.
I would prefer a Greddy E-manage blue for about the 400-500 (2nd hand mark.)

Its a piggy back, they all do the same thing - they alter the voltages heading into the standard ECU to 'fool' it into doing whats required of the tune. Such as adding more or less fuel / air when required of it.
Piggy backs dont blow up cars, bad tuners do. I ran a Type A Unichip for 3 years withut issue.
Anyways, this is not the place for said discussion. The man wants suggestions!

I know, I know, I just didn't want to split hairs & whore in this thread.tenji wrote:not always the case my friend.
theres some features you really would like to have on it maybe not as much so for an and/a car but for a turbo car its really important.
you simply can buy a apexi afc neo or v afc
these are also another suggestion.
For instance, I've just bought the Haltech interceptor to run mine because it has enough outlets to run my nitrous - eliminating the need for the 'brutal' on / off from the throttle pedal solenoid. We can actually tell the nitro what rpm to come in on and in what gear. Also has boost control to run the 2 turbos, plus multiple map sets, so I can pick my 'track day' settings when I head out to Oran Park etc.
Thing is, with an standard FTO, all you need to do is smooth out the A/F maps & adjust the ignition timing to get your extra 10kws. Thats all you can do to the FTO motor, so as you say, the simplest of controllers will suffice.

Be interested to know where you got yours tuned Ben. I'd like at least three years hassle free too

Wow? That's a bargain considering the price I had in mind. I thought to tune it properly and by a reputable chip tuner/installer it would be anywhere between $900 - 1500.Bennoz wrote:http://www.croydonracingdevelopments.com![]()
Will cost you $500 to have it installed & tuned.
$500 is nothing in comparison!
