Boot Compartment doesn't open when pulled

Post by akumi »

Hi my boot compartment doesn't open when pulled next to the driver seat, does anyone has a diagram or picture of how the wire is attached to the boot latch behind the boot?

ok i can't believe it, my boot has always worked, just that when i pull the latch, the boot has to be pushed up manually, i can't believe i've been using my key to open the boot all these years!!!

Question, does everyone's boot "pop up" when the boot latch is pulled?

Does your boot stay up once opened?. I know the gas struts can sometimes not have enough to open the boot

Yep, replace the gas struts that hold the bootlid up. Hang on a sec though, youre running an aftermarket rear wing arent you. If its heavier then the original, that may be your problem right there. The boot lid should stay up with the boot open.It may also be why you are having a problem with the automatic opener. Best way to check if the struts are shot if you put the original back on to test (if you still have it). I have struts if that ends up being your problem.
