oh cock........this original post was quite arrogant and their 'retaliation' thread is quite juvenile as well but hey what more could you expect.

Ok the original thread was *~delightful!~*, their retaliation thread was also *~delightful!~* as the above mentioned... this is so typical when talks of car A vs car B happen on the internet... lame.

FWIW, i'm a member of both forums and have experienced both cars in question, there is no way your n/a fto is gonna hand it to a modded r33 in decent condition/tune. You'll have an ok chance if your mivec was decently modded and the gts-t was stock and had a bad launch.. good launch, the stocker gts-t will still get you.

OMG i can't believe i'm commenting, /slaps himself.

I'm curious to know, do most of you really think skylines are fugly ? Personally, i love the looks of the r32 and r33 gts-t but the r34 is a bit boxy looking unless it's the gt-r version. Long as the r32 and r33 are decent colour, well maintained and has the correct options (e.g. a decent factory spoiler not the *~delightful!~* lip ones etc), they look really nice. All they need are a set of wheels, some kind of lowering and they look quite aggressive.

yeah i like the look of the R32 and R34's but think the 33's look rather soft certainly not like the aggressive other two models

Couldnt agree more, i love the r34 very mean.

The thing i hate about skylines is not actually the car (apart from r33, i do think they are fugly) its that there are just so many of them. I want a car that different that stands out from the crowd, thats why i hate commodores and falcons.

I love the flared gaurds, that does it for me right there.. the fat, beasty look ;)
Without the flared gaurds, it's just a normal boxy car

i do think they're ugly, but it is a personal opinion..
for example u look on this forum n the fto's all seem to have a different characteristic that's been emphasised. while (to me) even when a s.kyline is done up it still looks like all the others.. its like they all go to the same body shot n copy the same kits etc.

i've never liked them-- even when i was 14 walking a chap lap on saturday nights.

+1 exactly how i feel...

I think there a nice car that seems to perform well, but there commen and have such a stereotype that i could never drive one :? . i mean the people that drive them seem to have a rep as boy racer tools

disclaimer - sorry to all decent riceline drivers that were hurt in the reading of my post

Im afraid to say the looks do nothing whatsoever for me. Having said that, this is the case for most cars. I like a car that stands out and is a little different.

It's so true what people are saying about stereotypes spoiling cars.

I'm just going to put it out there, I actually don't mind a WRX. So shoot me, but I think those original looking 97 era wagons are pretty damn cool. Imagine, you chuck all your camping gear / dog / girlfriend or whatever in the back and head off for a weekend of fun, in a little pocket rocket. Seemed like a good idea to me, shame it's been spoilt by choc tops and the likes.

Someone mentioned the new monaros... again, love em. Only, very common now and a lot are driven by douche bags. Shame.

So I guess that's why a lot of us fiercely guard the FTO's reputation, because as soon as you get people making claims like they took on a modified gts-t and won and i'm heaps sick etc etc... well, it's just not an image I (and at least a few others here) like to associate with.

Anyway, that's just my personal opinion so too bad if you disagree.

That is true nicholas, in fact, I just realised that this is the first auto forum or site I've been to which isn't full of douchebags. 8O

I have a R33 GTST as most of you now, it runs about 300 rwkw now and basically does track days. On the G-meter its doing 0-100 with my new tires which are 275s in high 4s and qmile in high 11s - thats rwd only so it beats most cars going about unless they are modded pretty hard.

I always liked the skyline, alos the FTO and thats why I got both. I'm a fan of the new holdens also and the new big V8s...in fact I think I will get one this year as a daily.

I'm a bit pissed by all the cheap crappy r33s and r32s going about...there are a few and most are pretty sh*t...but there are a few in the club with great mods and a good looks, theat keeps me intrested.

Oh and the sline club have many more track days and events that FTOA...so you cant complain about that either. you will find most posters in that forum are not paid memebrs...the paid members are all pretty good blokes overall and dont give a toss about what type of car you have...as long as u drink up when we go out...the forum is a different story altogether.

    Lol.

    Take the following:
R33 GTST with 22psi on a GT45 non ball bearing tuned by a douche who thinks he can (boost kicks in at 5,500RPM) that sucks in hot air cause the intercooler is worth $20 off ebay, with cheapo chrome tempe rim that weight 20kg each and sh*tty Chinese rubber, and retarded cheapo lowered springs (you know, the 'common' setup of trash R33s)
    And pit it against
FTO GPvR lightmodded (filter, exhaust, fuel, spark, pulleys, clutch..etc) tuned properly by a pro, with Volk lightweight rims and Bridgestone RE-01R's or Toyo R888, and rip the rear seats & spare out, and King Springs

Put them both on a track with the skyline having an idiot who can't change gears properly, and a half decent driver in the FTO who knows how to compensate for the FWD launch and understeer.
The FTO would decimate it on the drag strip.
