FTOs are sorta in the same class as the civics, integras... if u plan on getting a supra, at least get a turbo... otherwise every other tom dick and harry's gonna rape u on the straight and round a corner. no offense but such a heavy car with such low torque(without turbo) is like a woman wearing a bikini walking in redfern...

get a manual, u wont regret it. its lighter, drinks less petrol and your left hand would never be bored hahaha

mivec sure kicks in at 5.5k and your car feels very responsive around that range and roars when 8k ... dude get an fto ... great car for its price i must say :thumright:

check out the "car for sale" section and check out bushido's!
WICKED i like a little n/a turbo kick if you get what i mean. and a supra yea would get beaten by a fto stock for sure but the supra has more potential down the track because its not fully tunned unlike a fto which is like all u can do is air filter exhaust. but meh enough of this bs. all my questions have benn answered thanks a lot guys! great fourm btw !in about 4 months ill be back on the fourms asking who wants to sell there fto. hope fully budishos is still up for sale :) lol o well thats all keep it sweet people

thats about all you can do to a non turbo supra as well, there's no 'tuning' to be done on a non turbo straight 6 unless its an M3

not true with supras u can still do cams, cam shafts , eletric fans, pulley gears, higher compression pistons , removing rev limit , little mods here and there like allowing coolent to run through the throttle body and then theres tiney things like port and polish

In saying that all of that will prob only get u doing like maby high 13s down the quatter and cost u the price of a house but yea u can still do stuff to a 2jz-ge

cams are camshafts. bennoz has aftermarket cams in his engine, fto comes standard with electric fans (kinda hard to operate a water pump driven fan on an east west engine), plenty of delimiters available.

port and polish, head deck, compression increase etc are all availbale for fto. thats all fabrication work, not off the shelf. they would cost the most out of any of the above mods though.

dont know why you would want 110 degree coolant flowing around your throttle body though. :?

yea i know all of that is easily avaliable for fto but isnt the fto engine already lightly tuned and have good cams on it for the mivec? it produces nearly 100hp per litre it would have to be tuned to some degree

LOL alright boys... He's sixteen, cant afford those extra add ons just yet.

Then again with everyone doing enine swaps and turbo-ing their fto. MAYBE thats something to consider, engine swap your GE for the GTE when your off your p's or similar. You'll only have to put up with a laggy piece of sh*t for a few years then after that.....

I reckon wait it out a little longer, your taste in cars might change and you might wanna get something completely different in a few months time.

yea im pretty dam set on the fto i reckon its just those *~delightful!~* fags who keep telling me there girl cars and that there slower then excels ( obviously they know bugger all about cars) turn me off it a bit but meh screw em . and yea to the post before that was exactly what i was going to do till i saw that fuel was at a $1.50 so i didnt realy want to get a 3 litre car lol. and yea i would never be able to afford boaring the engine or port polish that would just be down the track.

....... has any one on this fourm atempted 4wd fto ?

every single car that rolls out of a factory is tuned. there are stock engines out there that sh*t on 100 hp per litre these days.

what do you mean by that do u mean that cars these days can easily do over 100hp per litre ( im talking natraly aspirated of coarse) or do you mean that cars that has less then 100 hp per litre can still beat cars with 100hp per litre

i mean there's heaps of engines that can put out over 100hp per litre, na, turbo, V8 whatever.

GSXR1000 has put out at least 160hp since 2001, thats only 1 litre. It may be a moto but its na, proving my point.
http://www.suzukicycles.org/GSX-R-serie ... 1000.shtml

2008 BMW M3 has 420hp at the wheels from a 4 litre V8.
http://www.autocult.com.au/NewsDetail.aspx?id=607

2007 Porsche 911 RS puts out 415hp at the wheels from a non turbo 3.6 litre
http://www.autocult.com.au/NewsDetail.aspx?id=607

Honda S2000, 2 litre with 240hp
http://www.honda.com.au/wps/wcm/connect ... fications/

RX8 1.3 non turbo renesis engine with 240hp
http://www.mazda.com.au/Models/Current% ... tions.aspx

Its not that big a feat these days, hence listing a few cars from what we cant afford to what we can afford, +100 hp per litre is available in pretty much all markets.

hmm yea that is true that these days 100hp thing is pretty much the normal deal . i wouldnt say its the normal deal for most japanese car makers though accpet for of coarse honda. but yea then again this engie was what introduced around 1994 was it. which is unbelivable isnt it. like VTEC YO!!!!! came in 1990 and at 1994( from my small knowledge of VTEC YO!!!!! )it wasnt that great was it? but yea back to what i was saying is it acturly possible to get another say 40kw at the flywheel on the 6a12 engine ( KEEPING IT NATRALY ASPIRATED)?

i know that, that was just the point i was putting across. it is impressive, especially considering it was released in 94, i dont doubt that.
