precisely! its so easy to bluff it through. How can i do to avoid that? perhaps bring someone who have more mechanical knowledge with me? Can anyone help?
Just by putting myself in the mechanic's shoe, if he did a sh*tty job, he will money from new parts, labour and time.
Man, i feel so sh*tty today....

sorry mate i was joking with the other comments on page 1.zuihoujueding wrote:REALLY...but its ok when if its a small leak here and there. Everycar leaks some sh*t somewhere.
but im talking about wetting the whold undercarriage in just 3weeks, drive normally, twice a week.
Yeah minor oil leaks are fine if you can put up with the oil on your garage floor. If the whole under body is covered in 3 weeks, thats pretty major though.
It sounds to me he hasnt put a seal in correctly or damage the rocker cover gasket when fitting it. The best thing to do is jack the car and spray degreaser all over the engine area where you think the leak is coming from. Clean it up with a rag as best as possible. then go for a drive. bring it back, jack it up and have a look to see where it is coming from (use a torch)

NO leaking on the rocker cover.
Went to PulseRacing, Paul, to get a 2nd opinion about the oil leak. Mechanic went to remove the top rear timing belt cover and said the oil leak could be the crankseal.
I showed him the receipt, showing the major service and parts replaced and told him about the other mechanice was trying convince me that his work was fine and its the head gasket leaking which causes all the oil mess.
But Paul wasnt convinced its the head gasket leak. His guess will be the crank seal. but couldnt be sure unless the timing belt, cover, etc are taken out and will cost me at least $400 worth of labour, just to locate the leak.
I did not have that much money so just ask them to put everything back. Damage: $137.
Now the problem is the last mechanic is confident that the oil leak has nothing to do with his work. I am not convinced, based on my past engine gasket leak experiences and Paul's advice. How can it leak so badly just 2weeks after a major service?
So what i'll do is to send my car in again and get the stupid mechanic have a check again. But to check it thoroughly, timing belt, covers have to be out and im pretty sure they wouldnt want to do that. They would probably say, " Mate, based on my experience, i would say its the head gasket. And if you insist to check it thoroughly and later conclude that my work is fine, you will have to pay for all the labour involved."
I am actually ok with paying all that, BUT the problem is i dont have time to stand there looking at them all day as they can simply wipe the oil up and then tell me to come over and say theres no problem with it. They have all sorts of way to get around this.
So if i wish to persue this dispute further with this dodgy mechanic. Where can i report him?

Is the colour on the back of the motor oil lid look creamy or cloudy at all? If so then i would say that the head gaskets gone but i have a feeling it isnt. Report the bastard i say.

You can either do a compression test, good luck with the rear bank.
Or degrees your whole car, switch your car on and leave it on until you see oil coming out of somewhere.
If your dropping a litres a week surely after a couple of hours you will see at least a drop somewhere.
My guess is its a leak from somewhere else.
