Loose window

Ok...so I was driving and my driver side window started rattling hard. I stopped and when i opened and shut the door, there was a very loud sound from the window. The window was so loose that when i shook it, it was moving sideways. One more thing, there is a gap at the side of the window near the seatbelt. Rainwater can come in man...anyone noes how to tighten the damn ting?

what in the world is tat? Anyway its not the rubber lining that is the problem. Seems like the whole window is loose. I tried muckin ard my shakin n windin my windows up and down n not it seems back to normal. But i still wanna get it fix...any ideas how much it would cost and can i do a DIY on it?

The window guides are a small brackets that holds the window onto the rail that it slides up and down on (inside the door). These eventually either break or wear down and the window rattles like a bastard. Cost about $15 or $20 each (you need one for each side) from any Mitsubishi dealership and ive changed them in about 20 minutes a side.

Probably will just get the new window guides and try to fix it up myself. Shouldnt be much of a hassle. Is there a part number for the window guides or its the same across the board for mitsu cars?

I bought new bits to attach the glass to the guide for the rear of the door but never got round to fitting them yet as I moved the b-pillar door catch in a bit which tightened it all up and the knocking went away

Hey Bennoz, I called mitsubishi up and the part numbers are wrong. Can you fill me in again on the part numbers? Really want to get the window guides up.Cheers

Part numbers are correct mate, try a Mitsubishi dealer who has a clue

one noob that I talked to did not even know what a FTO was

Lolz...not tat im doubting u. I called up 2 mths ago and they had the part. And when i called up tis morning to 2 mitsu dealers all said the number was not in their database. I was looking at camskill and they have window guides for sumwhere around 12 pounds...might try for that.

One dude thought a FTO was a small four cylinder sports car... I wanted to shove his head in the bonnet to experience the V6 goodness...

well he was right as there was a GS 4 cylinder 1.8L FTO.

yip have not seen any over here though, did work on one in NZ who was regular customer, they are just like a base model usually with hubcaps not alloys etc
