Planning to remove factory spoiler

Hey everyone, I'm planning to remove the factory spoiler but does anyone know where to find a panel shop or someone who's not to expensive to fill the holes in the boot? thanks again =)

PS. I've put my number plates on my front bumper, I'm gonna drive on the freeway later tonight or tomorrow night to see if my mechanic is right about my number plate causing my temperature to go up....

I think the cpeapest way is to get some plugs to plug it into the hole. Panel beaters would have to fill the hole, sand it and give the whole boot the respray n its gonna cost a bit. If u wan u can try armstrong smash repairs in clayton. They are pretty good but im not so sure how much they would charge ya

Please do yourself a favour and dont use plugs. This topic has been covered before and IMHO if you cant afford to do it properly dont do it all. Plugs just look cheap and nasty (no offence to any one who has done this, its just my opinion.)

hey nikhan, just curious...where would you get these plugs from? thanks. I got a quote for my issue from a panel shop that fitted my Veilside front & side skirts...$1000...ahhhh....im so poor cause of my car.... =(

Before I had my accident I got a quote to have it properly done and painted for $600. You should be able to find cheaper than that if you shop around.

yeah i want those plugs for the meantime aswell... anyone know where to get them in sydney... i know autobarn sells them for the wrx but the size is totally different.

Didn't want to start a new thread. Sorry for the hijack.

Trying to remove the spoiler over the weekend, got two bolts off, the last one (always the last one!!) doesn't come off.

I turn and turn but it doesn't want to move from it's spot. Any idea's? Can't get an angle grinder into it coz there's no room.

Any ideas what I could use?

Im not so sure where to get the plugs...but i've seen them on some cars before. As simon has said, it does not look good at all. try a few panel beaters instead of one...it should not cost $1000 bucks.

Try heating up the bolt abit using a hairdyer or something. Should do the trick

wd40 leave for 1hr then more wd40 and it should come right out.

As for plugs, personnally i would some bog to fill the holes myself then sand it all smooth. Then, take it in for a respray.You would be looking at $300 tops not $1000 and it would look smicko

I'll try the wd40 first.

As for plugs, i just need one to fill in the hole in the middle (putting in the T Style VS spoiler).

What do I use to clean? The spoiler been covering the paint work for more then 10 years not and it's kinda dirty.

+1 with the wing on, unless your fto has skirts and has been lowered it would look crap.

Ok. tried WD40 .. the whole bolt turns so I don't think by heating it up would help.

Only option how is to cut the screw from up top.

Anyone know where I can get those thin wires used to cut metal? I good use the metal saw but it's hard to get into the gap between the spoiler and boot.

but i have a brand spanking new VS spoiler, all painted n sh*t.

I'm taking it off, just have to figure out how to do it.

Can you get a drill in and drill out the head of the bolt?

theres not enough room to put the drill sideways to inside the boot or outside. and you would damage the spoiler, guessing joe is going to sell it afterwards haha
