FTO Shocks

Post by MIVEC_GPX »

Hey guys,

Ive made a post before but it wasnt much help so seeing if there are any new takers on this. I need shocks for my GPX and cant seem to find them anywhere. I was told to get KYB Excel-G but they do not make them for FTO. Does anyone know where i can get shocks from or do i have to get factory replacements??

cheers

I'd try a performance shop, you'll have to get them ordered in though.

I think someone has mentioned before they got theirs from Bursons.

If that fails, where are you?

Maybe somebody local can refer you to a suspension joint that would have the KYB books and could order them for you and then fit them when they get them. SHouldn't take more than a week for delivery I would say.

wholesales suspensions quoted me 4x Excel-G struts with 4x lowered king springs. Supply and install with wheel alignment = $1000.

You work it out if its worth it?

not really

4 shocks is approx $400
4 king springs is approx $300

300 for installation and wheel align is bit high.

give ben a couple cartons and he'll install it for you.

Under one condition! Consume the cartons ONLY after full installation!

right, given that they r the pros and put your car up the hoist and a proper wheel alignment which Ben cant do?
wheel alignment alone is between $50-$80.

Try precision in botany 9316 6800

give them the part numbers and they'll price it for you, if they have it you can just drop by and pick it up.

Could also get the from Tubular Suspension Systems - 9457 6543

Guys name is James, an old mate of mine. Mention the FTO club and Bennoz & he should be able to get you in a set for around $440.

I'm really confused about this whole thing at the moment... just rang precision and the guy there couldn't find KYB shocks for FTO. I gave him the part numbers from the other thread that was given to me and when he looked them up they were shocks for a volvo...

I then looked into RPW and although they are on the net, they are under hyundai vehicles...

can anyone shed some light on the situation lol

The Volvo and some Mitsi's might use the same shock, nothing out of the ordinary there.
If someone else has the same part number fitted, (sorry can't tell you what mine are) then they would fit our cars. If your concerned I'd ring the mob Bennoz posted and check with them.

yea i just rang Tubular. he said he is gonna give his mate a call and see what he can find and give me a call back.

Those are the part number i gave to precision but they come up as volvo shocks. The guys at wholesale suspensions said that those part numbers are for Volvo's and KYB lists them as shocks for FTO but he has never found a set to fit an FTO.
