White cheap FTO on Ebay

Post by Ezza »

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 2759.l1259

Any of you Sydneysiders know anything about this car? KM's, condition etc etc? Why's it so cheap? (Guessing KM's...) Have emailed the dealer but just wondered if anyone had been to see it etc. Is it complianced does anyone know? Any do you guyts reckon those HORRID stickers would come off ok without damaging paint, leaving marks etc? I guess if it left any marks they would prob cut out ok.

Again anyway, any info/opinions welcome...

Or if there is anyone that feels like checking it out/test driving it etc and reporting back that would be much appreciated :)

Erin.

Nah me either, hence I would want to remove them. Why do ppl have to go sticking stickers all over the place? At least if you wanna do that put it on the windows so they're easy to get off! I think it looks tacky but each to their own I guess...

Stickers will come off with a little elbow grease. Depending on how long they've been on the car for, the paint underneath them may have faded less than the paint around them in which case it wouldn't be good.

Tow bar can be easily removed, though you'd want to check where they've mounted it to and make sure nothing's been damaged by heavy towing.

It doesn't have climate control... not sure why not cos I don't think it's a version R.

Someone would have to go check it out, but the fact that they haven't dislosed the km's it's done is a bit sus, and there are no engine bay pics which is a bit sus too.

Thanks nick, yeah I wondered about that too (no engine pics or km's) but hey it might be fine and you don't know if you don't ask. The emails I sent via Ebay bounced back so not sure whats going on there... Might try sending them direct through the "contact seller" link.

 Your fast becoming my run-to guy if I want to know anything about a potential car!

Your friend was correct.
The difference is a full 30kw extra between the non-mivec and actual mivec, and it's fully sik bro like a turbo that comes on at high RPMs.
Mivec = better.

Also - the GPX came with cool extras like electric mirrors, climate control aircon..etc.

oh, BTW, steer clear of this FTO.
I SERIOUSLY wouldn't touch ANYTHING that has a tow-bar on it, especially when the seller wont reveal the kms.
also, why is there a missing button on the side..seriously, don't buy this FTO.

i dont think its 30kw, its more like 20 but that difference is at 7500 rpm

mivec is not on throughout the whole rev-range, i think its activated around 3500 rpm but really only starts increasing power around the 5500-6000 rpm mark

someone can correct me if im wrong

It says 30 by the specs 8O

But yeah, i think it really only starts to come on around the 6000RPM mark.

5500 actually.

I vaguely remember a member a couple of years ago say they had a towbar on theirs, but cannot for the life of me remember who where i saw it. Do a search for towbar on the forum and you might find a reference to it. It definitely isnt a GPX (without climate control). This means that it is either a Version R (but the wing and seats suggests it isnt) or a GR. The fact that you arent getting an engine picture isnt a good sign as the others have said above. Oh and there are no side skirts on it either. Im willing to bet it is a GR.

If you can get the chassis number (DE3A....) I can find out what it is for sure. The other thing that rings a bell is the EVO motorsport sticker. Those guys used to own a car yard out of Fyshwich in Canberra a while back. Dont think they are there now though.

Yeah..unless someone went out of their way to change the seats and bodykit to make it have less value, it's not a vR.

What are you smoking crack???? 30kws what a load of sh*t. try 10kw IF THAT. Just cause they say it in a pretty little brochure dont make it true. There are lots of test been done between mivecs and non, manual and tips etc etc and never have i seen a 30kw difference. That means a stock gpx would be putting out around 120kw+............ I dont think so bro.
